Alabama State University

College of Business Administration

The College of Business Administration at Alabama State University offers several programs, one of which will help students prepare for a career in public accounting. The college focuses on preparing students for a career in the business world and by offering access to a number of educational paths, including accounting. Students in the school are urged to communicate with faculty, go out into the community and take part in outreach programs for solid educational experience. Masters in Accountancy

In order to be admitted to the Masters in Accountancy program, a student must have at least a 2.75 GPA and submit GMAT and TOEFL scores. There is a focus on helping students achieve certification in a number of accounting paths including as a certified public accountant, certified public auditor and certified management accountant. The program will also prepare students for further study, such as obtaining a Ph.D. or other degrees. Full scholarships are available for this program and can include books and tuition. Graduate assistance is also available in the form of teaching or serving in another role at the university. In state tuition is currently $8,720 and out-of-state tuition is $15,656. Students from the university go on to work as CPAs, auditors, management accountants or continue on to obtain a Ph.D.

Abilene Christian University

Graduate School

The graduate school at Abilene Christian University offers a number of degree and certificate programs including a master’s degree in accounting. Adrian College

Accounting & Business Department

The accounting & business department at Adrian College has a faculty made up of certified public accountants and all of them have real life experience in the field. Master of Science in Accounting

In order to earn a master’s degree from Adrian College in accounting, students will need to complete 30 academic hours and maintain a GPA of 3.0. In order to sit for the CPA exam, a student must have a baccalaureate degree and 150 hours of university credits. In addition, 30 of these hours must be in accounting. Graduates from this program will graduate with the practical knowledge needed to enter into the field of accounting and prepared to sit for the CPA exam. The program is designed for students who have a solid understanding of accounting and wish to further their education. Students who do not have an accounting background or those who have not been in accounting classes for several years will be encouraged to take a course or two in order to improve their understanding of accounting.

School of Business

Kogod School of Business
