Indiana State University offers a Bachelor of Science in Accounting that is offered completely online. It provides students with a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices and how they apply to today’s constantly evolving business field. It prepares students to take the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination and prepares students to enter careers or pursue advanced educational degrees. The program requires Indiana State University foundational courses, core courses in business and in-depth accounting courses. Students are also able to pair the program with a minor to gain more study on a specific area. Available minors include forensic accounting, finance, risk management, and economics.
The accounting program requires the completion of a total of 120 credit hours and is typically completed in four years. The required accounting courses include financial accounting, cost accounting, accounting systems, introduction to federal income taxation, auditing theory and practice, and advanced federal income taxation. The electives include fraud examination, not-for-profit accounting, occupational fraud, contemporary issues in cost and managerial accounting, business administration and the law, accounting research and analysis, and business computer systems. Students must also complete an accounting internship.

Work Study
The Federal Work-Study program is a federally funded student employment program. It is available to students who demonstrate financial need.
