About Regis University

Regis University is a private university affiliated with the Society of Jesuits through the Roman Catholic Church. Founded in 1877 as Las Vegas College, it became the College of the Sacred Heart ten years later. From 1921 to 1991, it used the name Regis College. During the early 1880s, the Jesuits moved the college from Nevada to Colorado at the behest of the Bishop of Denver. The college operated in Morrison for several years and established a private high school on its campus. It would later move to Denver and create a separate campus for the high school. The Anderson College of Business opened in 2015 after the university combined its former professional studies and business departments. This college now offers more than a dozen degree programs and has a few online options designed for professional learners.

Regis University Application Requirements

To earn a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from Regis University, students must have some professional work experience, credits that they can transfer from another college or a high school diploma. The university offers an online checklist that goes over the guidelines they should use when writing the admission essay. They will upload this essay to the online application. Regis then requires that students submit copies of their school transcripts.

Regis looks at graduate applications to find students who can meet the demands of its programs and the mission of the university. It requires both official transcripts from the student’s past schools and a completed online application. The application has a spot where students can upload an admissions essay to discuss their accounting goals and how the MS in Accounting will help them achieve those goals. This gives students the chance to read over their essays and look for spelling and grammar mistakes before they upload it. Regis also asks for a current resume and proof that the applicant took accounting and business prerequisites. Students can apply up to one month before the program starts.
