Online via Canvas, the University of Denver delivers the U.S. News & World Report’s 150th best MBA at a 15:1 student-faculty ratio for two 60-credit concentrations in Marketing and Finance directed by Dr. Carol Johnson with WeWork Global Access membership plus real-world capstone projects. About the University of Denver
The University of Denver originated on March 3, 1865, when Territorial Governor John Evans opened the Colorado Seminary to serve the new Pike’s Peak Gold Rush mining camp. During the 1870s, its permanent campus was erected seven miles south of Denver on Rufus Clark’s former farm. In 1880, it was renamed the University of Denver to grow beyond Methodist ministerial training. In 1891, DU added graduate education to its growing list of four-year bachelor’s majors. University of Denver Accreditation Details
On June 20, 2011, the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association (HLC-NCA) Institutional Actions Council formally notified the University of Denver that the Level VI accreditation was properly reaffirmed through 2020-21 under the 18th chancellor, Dr. Rebecca Chopp, who earned the KWU Alumni Achievement Award. Located 1,009 miles east via Interstate 80 in Chicago, Illinois, this respected 19-state Rocky Mountains Region accreditor is authorized by the U.S. Education Department to evaluate DU’s 83 baccalaureate, 86 master’s, 29 doctoral, and 146 certificate programs. Further, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International has accredited Daniels College since 1923.
University of Denver Application Requirements
Admission to the University of Denver is classified “moderately difficult” by Peterson’s because just 11,554 of the 19,904 Fall 2017 applicants were chosen for selective 58 percent acceptance. First-year Pioneers seeking the BS in Accountancy or Finance must have passed a challenging, college-prep high school curriculum. Four units of English, Math, Science, and Social Studies each are suggested. The Class of 2021 had a median 3.77 secondary GPA. Since 2019, freshman enrollment has been entirely test-optional. If taken, the middle 50th percentile have SAT scores of 1190-1370 and ACT scores of 26-32. The Honors Program seeks a minimum 3.8 GPA and 1300 SAT mark. Undergrads can transfer a maximum 135 quarter credits from accredited colleges with GPAs over 3.0. Graduate Daniels College of Business cohorts should have 3.0 and better GPAs in four-year bachelor’s study. The Denver MBA prefers at least three years of work experience. Executive Ph.D. candidates have 10 or more years. Post-grads present an average 3.31 GPA and 618 GMAT score.
The University of Denver set freshman deadlines of November 1st for Early Action and January 15th for Regular Decision. Daniels College of Business transfers abide quarter priority dates of April 1st for Fall, October 15th for Winter, February 1st for Spring, and May 1st for Summer. Domestic master’s entrants can apply until April 15th or December 1st. International post-grads must file before March 1st or October 1st. Business funds include the Caldy Whitridge Scholarship, Mortensen Special Needs Scholarship, Marriott Foundation Scholarship, Gilbert Endowed Scholarship, Hinkins-Steiner Scholarship, Marilyn Hughes Scholarship, Women of Enterprise Scholarship, Four Seasons Scholarship, Stegman Endowed Scholarship, Richard Green LGBT Scholarship, and Herbst-Dillon Single Parent Scholarship. The Chancellor Scholarship gifts up to $24,000 annually to outstanding freshmen meeting the 3.8 GPA and 1380 SAT minimum. The National Society of Hispanic MBAs Scholarship covers partial tuition for Latinx post-grads with GPAs above 3.0. Federal programs, such as the Work-Study and Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, require FAFSA forms coded 001371. The Colorado Student Grant also provides up to $5,000 for in-state residents taking 6+ credits.
